The Inspection teams were constituted on the orders of the Madhya Pradesh High Court to inspect the Nursing colleges in the state . The CBI set up these teams ,which in addition to their officers , included staff nominated by the Indian Nursing Council and patwaris of the state . A New Team From the CBI is likely to take over the investigation into Madhya Pradesh Nursing colleges scam after members of the agency earlier team allegedly become a part of it . four CBI officers , including a Deputy Superintendent – Rank officer, have been named in the FIR And three have been arrested.

 

The CBI had inspected 308 nursing colleges out of the total 364, against which the high court had issued the direction in the December .The CBI is also inspecting the remaining 200 colleges affiliated with Madhya Pradesh Nursing Regulatory Committee.

During its prove ,the CBI found 169 colleges suitable to run the nursing course , 74 colleges deficient with short problems , which can be redefined and the left 65 colleges were found unstructured to run nursing colleges . The CBI received information that the teams indulged in corrupt practice by giving suitability reports to unreliable institutes . the source also informed that the unethical money collected .

The CBI has claimed that its officials received bribes ranging between 2 lakh to 10 lakh various nursing officers and patwaris attached with the CBI inspection teams also received , 25-50,000 and 5-20,000, respectively.

CBI INSPECTOR TERMINATED FROM SERVICE The central bureau of investigation (CBI) has terminated the services of inspector Rahul Raj, who was allegedly caught red handed accepting a bribe of 10 lakh during the investigation of irregularities in Madhya Pradesh nursing colleges , officials at the agency said on Wednesday.

Two officers of Madhya Pradesh police inspector Sushil Kumar Majoka and Rishikant Asathe, who were earlier attached with CBI – have also been repatriated due to the their alleged involvement in the bribery racket unearthed in the central agency internal vigilance findings ,an official said.

NEW LAW OF INDIAN NURSING COUNCIL FOR ADMISSION IN NURSING COURSE

In a Relief of Thousand of students who had been admitted to colleges listed as ” deficient ” and ” unsuited” in a CBI Enquiry report ,The Madhya Pradesh High Court Has Allowed them to participate in the examination for previous academic sessions .The Division Bench of Justices SANJAY DWIVEDI And ACHAL KUMAR PALIWAL Noted in the order that the permission granted to take the exam .

CLOSURE OF SCAMED NURSING COLLEGES BY MP GOVERNMENT

The Madhya Pradesh government has ordered the closure of 66 nursing colleges across 31 districts in accordance with high court order in the alleged nursing college scam being proved by the CBI . The scam pertains to gross irregularities in the functioning of several nursing colleges which lacked infrastructure while some existed only in paper .

CM Mohan Yadav has directed the closure of 66 nursing colleges across 31 districts in accordance with the high court order, as per the CMO. MR. Yadav has directed officials to ensure that no student of these nursing colleges is affected and arrangement be for them to appear for examination. The commissioner of medical education department has sent the list of these colleges to the respective district collectors and told them to act as per the HC directives, the CMO said. the recognition of these colleges was already cancelled . the action was also started against such colleges in several districts including Indore.

LIST OF COLLEGES

The list includes: * Eight colleges in Betul * Six in Bhopal * Five in Indore * Four Each in Chhatarpur , Dhar and Sehore * Three in Narmadapuram * Two each in Bhind , chhindwara , jabalpur , jhabua , mandla , rewa, seoni, shahdol . A college each in Alirajpur , Anuppur , Barwani , Burhanpur , Dewas, Gwalior , Khandwa , Khargone, Morena, Panna, Sagar, Tikamgarh, Ujjain, Umaria, Vidisha and Sheopur also figures in the list

” SCAM TOUTS ARRESTED”

The CBI On Monday night said it has arrested 13 people , including two of its own inspectors , in connection with a ” Nursing scam ” in Madhya Pradesh which is being probed by the central agency following a High court order. These accused , including two CBI inspectors – RAHUL RAJ and SUSHIL KUMAR MAJOKA – three alleged touts -OM GOSWAMI , RAVI BHADORIA and JUGAL KISHORE and three women were arrested in the last 24hours , a CBI released said All the Accused were remanded to CBI custody till may 29 by a court, the release added .

The scam relates to alleged irregularities in running of the state nursing colleges . On Saturday ( May 18) ,CBI inspector Raj was caught while accepting an illegal gratification of Rs 10 lakh from one Anil Bhaskaran. and his wife Suma anil . in a follow up action , CBI , new Delhi conducted searches at 31 places in Bhopal , Indore , Ratlam, and Jaipur and effected recoveries of more than Rs. 2.33 crore in cash , 04 gold bars, 36 digital device and over incriminating documents , the released said . The Arrested CBI inspector were allegedly accepting bribes to give a clean chit to unsuited nursing colleges , sources said

The Central Agency has initiated administrative action against the erring officials ,the release said .During monitoring of inspection being carried out by various teams ,including inspector Raj ,were found to be indulging in corrupt activities .it was observed they were giving favourable inspection reports in lieu or bribes.

Collected through conduits , it added the CBI integral vigilance mechanism came into action and a case against 23 person including Raj , three other agency officials and conduits / touts was registered ,the released said in December 2022 , the Madhya Pradesh HIGH COURT had directed the CBI to inspect nursing colleges on petitions stating they were being run with just dispensaries and without infrastructure facilities , source said that, 

 CBI had inspected 500 -odd nursing colleges and found 65 of them lacking in infrastructure or running with dispensaries . these colleges were restrained from running nursing courses . currently , the central agency is inspecting other nursing colleges.

The arrested accused include Mr. Majoka , Mr. Bhaskaran and his wife ,jugal kishore and om goswami , directors of separate nursing colleges ,who acted as middlemen between the CBI inspection teams and various college managements .
